In more detail…

 

 

·        Beginner’s basic course (The Candidate does not need to have his own motorcycle)

 

 

-          Cost

-          R 500.00

 

 

-     Duration and Candidate ability requirements

-          Five (5) hours all done in one session

-          All levels of ability is catered for

 

 

-     Course objectives

            -     At the end of this session the Candidate should:

-          Know and understand the motorcycles’ controls, and the safe use thereof

-          Know and understand the safety aspects surrounding motorcycles, including protective gear.

-          Be comfortable on the motorcycle

-          Be able to pull away and stop safely

-          Be able to change gears smoothly

-          Know what to look for in a motorcycle suited for his needs

-          Know what to look for when buying protective gear

-          Know what to look for when buying a helmet

 

 

-          Course material and presentation

-     Training is provided on a flat, safe, enclosed, private concrete slab

-          The Candidate is shown riding videos, and certain riding aspects are explained

-          The Candidate rides on an automatic scooter, to get acquainted with the feel of the motorcycle and its controls until he is ready to ride a manual motorcycle.

-          The Candidate is taught how to pull away, and stop, and which brake to use

-          The Candidate is taught how to change gears

-          The Candidate is advised on the right motorcycle for his needs

 

 

·        K53 Licence

 

 

-          Cost

-          R400.00

 

 

-     Duration and Candidate ability requirements

-          Two (2) hours

-          Candidates must have mastered basic motorcycle skills, and be in possession of a valid learner drivers licence

 

 

      -     Course objectives

-          At the end of this session, the Candidate should be able to pass the K53 Drivers exam

 

 

 

      -     Course material and presentation

-          Training is provided on a flat, safe, enclosed, private concrete slab

-          A complete “dress-rehearsal” of the riding exam is done

-          The Candidate practices on a course laid out exactly similar to the course the will encounter during the practical part of the exam.

-          The Instructor ensures that the Candidate’s motorcycle is taken to the testing station for the practical exam

 

 

·        Advanced Road Riding Skills

 

 

-          Cost

-          R 550.00

 

 

      -     Duration and Candidate ability requirements

-          Five(5) hours

-          Candidates must be in possession of a valid drivers licence, and be conversant with all aspects of motorcycling

 

 

-          Course Objectives

-          At the end of this session the Candidate should be comfortable with using his motorcycle safely, in varying road conditions, and to its full potential

 

 

-     Course material and presentation

-          Training is given with the Candidates own motorcycle, and is scheduled in mountainous terrain

-          The Instructor will explain various techniques, and tips, followed by a practical session where the following is reinforced:

-          How to use the brakes effectively

-          Handling of the motorcycle under extreme conditions, and its capabilities

-          What to look out for, and what to be aware of

-          How to read and interpret the road

-          Reading of corners, left-hand and right-hand

-          Trouble shooting in changing conditions

-          Sand, diesel, oil etc and how best to handle them

-          The riding line

-          Speed into and out of corners

-          Riding position and posture

-          Some finer techniques

 

 

 

All hourly training will be done at R100.00 per hour
